Jazz in Great Harwood

Bob Wilbur

Bob Wilbur     April 1977

It was Bob's second appearance at Great Harwood, having been before as part of Soprano Summit with Kenny Davern, so we knew that we were in for a good evening.

Many people were misled by the toy-like instrument that Bob uses, but they were soon brought to heel when he started to play. His experience of playing with the master of the soprano sax, Sidney Bechet, was evident from the start.

See here  for a review of the "All Stars" concert for Bob Haggart’s 80th birthday party.
